WATER, SANITATION, AND HYGIENE (WASH) INITIATIVE

WASH is more than infrastructure—it’s a catalyst for health, education, gender equality, and economic opportunity. Through our WASH Initiative, AAGF is committed to building cleaner, safer, and more dignified communities, where everyone has access to the water, sanitation, and hygiene services they deserve
Key Focus Area
School Wash Programs
- Install handwashing stations and latrines in schools
- Train students as hygiene ambassadors
- Promote menstrual hygiene management (MHM) to reduce absenteeism among girls
Community Empowment
- Form and train Water User Committees for sustainability
- Engage traditional leaders, women’s groups,
and youth in planning and monitoring - Facilitate inclusive WASH services for people
with disabilities
Emergency WASH
- Provide life-saving water and hygiene support in times of crisis (e.g. floods, displacement)
- Distribute emergency WASH kits and build temporary facilities in shelters and camps
